Soldering fumes and lead exposure
Wave-soldering and hand-soldering stations release a mix of rosin flux fumes and, in some legacy lines, lead particulates. Prolonged inhalation causes occupational asthma; chronic lead exposure affects the nervous system. Local exhaust ventilation and biological monitoring are essential controls.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) hazards

Semiconductor and precision-assembly clean rooms use isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and specialised etchants. Inadequate ventilation inside enclosed clean-room environments concentrates vapours rapidly, and mixed storage of incompatible chemicals remains a recurring finding.
Eye strain and micro-assembly vision hazards
Workers inspecting solder joints and micro-components under magnification for extended periods develop digital eye strain, headaches, and blurred vision. Poor lighting design compounds the effect, particularly on night shifts.

Proof of OHS competence in Indonesia does not come from a single door. Three official routes exist, each with its own legal basis, and they stand on their own, they are not tiers, they do not replace one another, and holding one does not confer the others. Working out which one is actually being asked for is the first step, before any budget is committed.
Kemnaker, Ministry of Manpower
Its role: Labour regulator
What it issues: OHS licences and letters of appointment
The obligation comes from labour law, Act No. 1 of 1970 and the ministerial regulations beneath it. This is the route a labour inspector checks on a site visit, and for roles such as lifting-equipment operator or OHS electrical technician, nothing else can stand in its place.
BNSP, National Professional Certification Agency
Its role: Authority for individual competency certification
What it issues: Competency certificates from a BNSP-licensed LSP
It rests on the SKKNI national competency standards, and the certificate is issued by a Professional Certification Body (LSP) holding a BNSP licence, not by BNSP itself, and not by the training provider. This is the route usually asked for at tender prequalification and in customer audits.
BNSPKAN & IAF, National Accreditation Committee & International Accreditation Forum
Its role: Accredits the body, not the person
What it issues: Accreditation of certification bodies, e.g. SNI ISO/IEC 17024
This layer assesses the institution, not the candidate. KAN accredits certification bodies in Indonesia, and KAN's membership of the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement is what makes that accreditation recognised abroad. The companies that benefit are those whose certificates must be accepted by an overseas client or principal.
KAN IAFAll three stand on their own, and RTI issues none of them. Holding a BNSP certificate does not discharge a Kemnaker licensing obligation, and KAN accreditation replaces neither. PT Rindu Tenang Indonesia runs the preparatory training and arranges the competency assessment, while the proof itself is issued by the authorised body. RTI is not a Professional Certification Body (LSP), not an OHS Service Company (PJK3), and not an accreditation body. Mapping which one your site is actually being asked for comes first, and costs nothing at that stage.

Frequently asked questions
Can the training be held inside our plant at Batamindo?
Yes, and that is in fact the most common arrangement. Every programme can be delivered in-house inside the plant. The teaching team obtains entry badges through your company as tenant and completes the third-party safety induction before entering production areas.
How long does the park entry badge take?
It depends on the park operator and the tenant's own policy, but our side of the paperwork is ready as soon as the proposal is approved, so it never becomes the cause of a delay. What usually determines the timing is the internal approval chain within your own company.
We only need chemical-safety training for our soldering line. Is that too small?
No. A requirement of that size is entirely normal. What has to be settled first is the route, a chemical safety officer (Ahli K3 Kimia) sits on the Ministry of Manpower route, not with BNSP.

No. The park name appears on this page as a description of where the service is delivered. RTI is not affiliated with the park operator, does not represent it, and does not sell anything on its behalf.
How much does in-house OHS training at Batamindo cost?
